• I’m having some difficulties in Ocean WP to perform some situations.

1 – The pagination of the blog page, which does not change the existing pages, is only showing the same posts. I even managed to partially fix this, because as we have few posts yet, I only increased the amount of posts that appear per page. But I would like to resolve the situation so that, when there are more posts, the page happens normally.

2 – Post categories are not linked to posts, at least that’s what it seems, since when you click on the category in question, even if it changes the page to the url of the category itself, all posts from all categories.

3 – Searches carried out within the blog do not show the correct result, again the page loads the correct url, with the search term, but on the page loaded the results are always the same posts. I use the Relevanssi plugin to index the posts.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Okay, too bad, I can’t find the reason for the error.
If I had a child theme, how would I be able to find it? You commented earlier on the possibility that when you have one, there could be other variations.

You can see it from your theme settings page. Is the theme your site is using OceanWP or a child theme?

Hi Mikko, thank you very much. But if I happen to have a child theme, how can I find out? And where would I be able to find the “search” on the child?

I believe it would only be the OceanWP. But to be on the safe side, I’ll try to look for some different way.

I installed the theme twenty twenty one wordpress, went to the blog page, did the search by entering the term in the search box, but even so the problem remains.

That confirms it’s not a theme problem. I would recommend deactivating other plugins one by one to see if one of them is causing the problem.

I still haven’t got the slightest idea what the problem is. A question I have is the shape of the search box, add by widget?

So, deactivating the other plugins didn’t help?

If you want to change how the search box looks, you can use CSS to style it the way you want it to.

Actually the search box is not showing up in the menu, how do I do that? You need another specific plugin for the search box, or the magnifying glass icon in the menu. Because I inserted it through the wordpress widget in the blog’s sidebar only, but I would like it to also have a search box or a magnifying glass icon in the menu. Would you be able to help me?

There are many ways to add a search box. Plugins, I guess, but usually it’s done in the theme. Relevanssi doesn’t indeed provide any

Any web designer with WP skills can help you with this, so I’ll leave that to other people, in order to be able to focus on helping people with Relevanssi issues.

I have news, I managed to make the search work. Using a “Health Check & Troubleshooting” plugin, I activated the troubleshooting mode. With that I managed to disable all plugins, and changed the theme. Only “Relevanssi” and “Health Check & Troubleshooting” plugins are active. Through the search widget, I performed the search and it worked. But with the other plugins and the active element, it didn’t work.

You can then try activating other plugins one by one to see where the search breaks again.

    Hi Mikko!

I did the test, activate the plugins 1 by 1, when I activated the “elementor”, the search stopped showing the content related to the search term and presented in the result all the existing posts. Without having any connection with the research itself.

    (@msaari)

Looks like the problem stems from Elementor, then. Relevanssi should be compatible with Elementor, but it’s not the first time there are some problems between the two.

Figuring out why Elementor is blocking the search results is another thing… As far as I can tell, Elementor shouldn’t really interact with the search results at all, if you’re using a standard WP search results template. Perhaps you could ask Elementor support about this?

    Hi!

Of course, I understand! These are situations that can happen, even because updates occur from time to time.

I can yes! If you can direct me to what I should say specifically, so that it is more direct and quick, and if you can help me explain in the best way so that they understand the situation correctly.
