Blog Post Excerpt

  • Hello,

    It seems that I have to manually write something in the excerpt box in the document settings on my post, otherwise there is no excerpt at all. I would like the theme to automatically create an excerpt (as it is supposed to) so that all post summaries are the same length and are consistent throughout the blog grid.

    I read this article on excerpts:

    I checked my reading settings and the “each article in a feed, show” is marked summary.

    Excerpts are automatically created if they can be.

    With Gutenberg nested content doesn’t get picked up for excerpts. For example, if you add text inside a row layout block that text isn’t seen. There is an issue in regard to this bug but no fix yet in WordPress core. If that is your issue you will have to create the excerpts for the timing being.

    If you are using a pagebuilder that can create a similar issue with no excerpts being able to be created.

    If neither applies to you can you send me a link to your page?

    Hi Ben,

    Thanks for the info. I am using the Gutenberg blocks and it seems that is the issue. At least now I know what is going on, and hopefully a fix is in the works.

    My search result only showing title, text-summary is empty
