Blog Posts appearing in Podcast Feed

Hi guys,

Further to this thread (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/blog-posts-showing-up-in-podcast-feed/) I have done some testing and confirm two things:

1. Inserting the podcast_episode shortcode within the podcast item content breaks the feed for that item. When this happens, it seems to pull the latest blog post entry title and content. Link to self-hosted file, file size etc are still correct.

My workaround is to use podcast_playlist with a single ID instead. This is far from desirable, as it just doesn’t look as good as your podcast_episode display does.

2. Removing all instances of podcast_episode from all items resolves this for all EXCEPT all I can guess is the latest or maybe last added podcast episode. It remains displaying the latest blog post entry. I did have an entry on the front page for the latest podcast, using podcast_episode shortcode. I removed that just in case it was being interpreted somehow, but that made no difference.

The only blog posts we have are labelled “events”. Podcast episodes may or may not have a category, or multiple series.

Help greatly appreciated please! We are about to launch the website and the promise here was to resolve the existing podcast website issue. As it stands, the new system is worse and I need to make a decision fast.

PS I updated to your latest 16.2, and we are also using the Avada theme system. It makes no difference whether this theme system is active or not, the issue occurs.
