• Hi everyone,

I’d like to start my blog in two languages, English & Spanish, but I don’t want to have two sites. I was thinking in doing it as airline magazines do: two column posts; one column for each language.

Do you know anyone doing this? Do you think it’s a good idea? I’m concerned about readers’ experience (also in mobile devices) and SEO.

Finally, is there any template/theme available to do this?

The blog is about photography, so I’ll be posting images regularly, so I need a theme/template that allows to insert images within the two column structure.

I’m a newbie in blogging so any help is welcome with this issue.

    Thanks a lot,

    Carlos

  • Do you just want the site translated into English/Spanish? There are several plugins available that will do this automatically for you (by machine rather than manual translation). – https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/search.php?q=language+translator

This method may be less precise depending on the content of your blog (i.e. highly technical writing may be less precise due to varied meanings of certain words that are out of context when translated).

If you are looking to write the content and translate it manually side by side as you described, you might try a plugin like Columns, which will let you achieve the two column post layout that you were looking for.

    Oizuled,

I’m not looking for a translation plugin as I intend to write each post in both languages myself.

I’ll have a look at Columns plugin to see if it would work for me.

Thanks a lot; very much appreciated.
