• Hi there,

Is there a way to have some blog posts only viewable to the admin? I have created a blog category that i would only like admins to view. Is there a way to achieve this? I have set a test post to private, bust still appears on the main blog feed. Maybe I can have just one category viewable to admin and not public?

Any ideas on how I can do this?

    Thanks!

  • Setting the contribution to private is the right approach. The post should then no longer be publicly accessible. Try this with a private window in which you are not logged in. The post should then also not appear in lists of posts.

If the latter still happens, it is probably due to the theme or a plugin that displays the list and overrides the restriction to private. Of course, this should not be the case and you would have to find the guilty plugin.

It is still unclear to me what exactly you mean by “admin”. Do you mean a specific user or the role of the administrators? Setting a post to private in the above way means that you have to log in to see it – it doesn’t matter what role you have (administrator, editor, customer, etc.). If you are looking for more precise restrictions at role level, you would probably have to solve this with the help of a plugin.

I see, many thanks, yes it seems to work when logged out and only viewable by admin ??
