Blog posts to not appear on mobile version of site

  • I’m having an issue where new blog posts will appear right away to users on PC’s, but are delayed anywhere from 2 hours to “indefinitely” for Mobile users. Everything else on the site *except* for blog posts and menus/shortcuts referencing them normally updates within 5 minutes for mobile users; as of 3 days ago or so, only desktop/laptop users can see them reliably. I removed the only add-on (AddToAny) that was recently added, but it did not seem to make a difference.

    Theme: Mimamaze 1.3.3 (responsive theme)

    Been racking my brain trying to think how this would even be possible.

    Do you have any caching plugins running?

    Do you have a plugin that handles what mobile devices see?

    Aye — I’m new to WP (though I’m a computer guy and can do basic coding, so I am not afraid to dig into the PHP files) — and it makes no sense to me, either. We tried it with several different phones, too, all the same result.

    Active plugins:

    Sidekick
    Video tutorials
    Quick Page/Post Redirect Plugin — this could be suspect, but it only affects a single no-Blog page

    Humm I dont suppose this could be a simple cache issue on your mobile device?

    Can you clear the cache on your mobile device to see if the missing posts popup?

    I dont think any of those plugins would produce this issue.

    Can you give me an example of a post that is on the desktop view but not on your mobile?

    Checked with other users of the site — the “missing” posts suddenly showed up in the past hour, along with one I just posted five minutes ago (~2:35pm Central). As of right now, everything shows up on both; for the last 3 days, only desktop users could see posts during most of the day.

    I tried fiddling with plugins, to no avail.

    We talked to our known IRL users (read: the office ?? )…It seems that blog entries posted in the morning get delayed until the mid-afternoon o_O This is the third day in a row that this has happened. It wouldn’t be a big deal, except for the fact that most of the folks who actually read this fledgling blog, do so via mobile. We’ve checked it on half a dozen different mobile devices, across the 3 major providers here (AT&T, T-Mobile, C*Spire) — Same issue on all of them.

    I’ll try and get Tech support on the horn; this one’s a puzzler. thank you for the help troubleshooting!

    Well if you can reply here when a post is on desktop but not on mobile so I can try and test too.

    The only other thing to try is of course posting something with no plugins enabled and the 2015 theme and see if it does the same thing?

    I cant imagine its a theme thing but people do build some strange things into their themes,

    Using the Minamaze theme. No code-related tweaks aside from manually adding a couple of social media links.
