    Hi!

I think I set up everything correctly, but the blog profile won’t post anything. After a while, I tried activating authors’ profiles, and those worked fine. The blog profile started boosting those posts as expected. But then I deactivated authors’ profiles (I’m not interested in working that way), and it stopped posting again.

I read on the documentation that “The blog-wide profile is only compatible with sites with rewrite rules enabled”, but I don’t know if that refers to WordPress (how?), the server… What should I look into in order to solve this?

    Thanks!

Oh, nevermind. It suddenly started working, finally!! ??

Could it be related to the username it was using? It had a dot in the middle (reproducing the “.es” TLD), then I renamed it to that dotless one, as seen on the link above. But idk, tbh…

    Hey @allvoxman ??

The dot shouldn’t be a problem, I myself use the domain as user handle (@[email protected]) and it works totally fine. But maybe you are using a platform that I have not tested yet?!?

I would assume it is more a problem with the crons!? The plugin uses the WordPress Cron system to federate your post and depending on your setup, this might need some time to be triggered.

    Thanks a lot, @pfefferle!!

Mmmm-maybe? All posts over there are scheduled, so I assume we’re totally using the WP-Cron thing too. On my first attempts I waited for the posts to be posted, visited them on the site, went back to the fedi account I was following, and I did not see them there. Now I do ??.

Is there anything I should look for in the settings?

There are no settings for the distribution, so maybe you simply observe the behavior for some more weeks. Let me know if you find something out here!

Sure, will definitely do. I’m still tinkering with the plugin settings, specially the ?Activities? section, to try different formats and options… so I’ll be watching it.

    Thanks again Matthias!!

    Hi again,

It keeps working, but some quirks have appeared these days:

    • Avatar image has suddenly changed, even though the website’s icon has not. I can’t figure out where this is coming from.
    • I’m using this custom activities setting [ap_excerpt length=”200″]. Most posts honor this, however, some use what I think is the default limit (400), more or less.

    Hey @allvoxman ??

I am sorry about the image! This was an issue and we already reverted it. This should be fixed in the next version!

Can give me an example of a post where your settings (of the 200 chars) was ignored? I will check if we also broke something there!

I checked it on my local test system and can’t reproduce the problem. It always uses the exact number of chars I configure.

Have you set the “Post content” setting to “Custom” ??? The textarea only applies to the “Custom” setting!

    Thread Starter allvoxman

    (@allvoxman)

Yep, it’s set to custom, and my textarea looks like:

    <h2>[ap_title]</h2>

    [ap_excerpt length="200"]

    [ap_permalink]

    [ap_hashtags]

Of course, I’m measuring just the excerpt part of the post. A couple of screencaps: https://imgur.com/a/VrLbW5R

    Hi again @pfefferle !

    About this:

I am sorry about the image! This was an issue and we already reverted it. This should be fixed in the next version!

Just for clarification: is it 3.3.2? Thx!!! ??

    Plugin Author Matthias Pfefferle

    (@pfefferle)

because it is not release yet, it is whatever comes next ??

I am not sure yet if it is a patch or a minor release, so it could be 3.3.2 or 3.4.0.

    Plugin Author Matthias Pfefferle

    (@pfefferle)

But thanks for the reminder, it might be time to release the fixes/updates. Will prepare a new version today!

    Thread Starter allvoxman

    (@allvoxman)

Oh, I see! I was just wondering what should I look at. No prob, and thanks a lot! ????

    Thread Starter allvoxman

    (@allvoxman)

    Updated to 3.3.2! ?? (thx!!)

Oddly enough, wrong avatar is still shown on new posts…? ??
