How are you other users handling linking to internal pages in your posts?

For example, a post on my main site (mainsite.com) links to /blog/category/jellyfish/. Now when that is broadcast to the sub-sites (subsite.com), it tries to link to subsite.com/blog/category/jellyfish, even though sub-sites don’t use /blog/ in their permalink structure. I would like it to link to subsite.com/category/jellyfish.
