• Hi there,

Lately, my blog (https://www.pipeburn.com) has been receiving email from readers complaining that they can’t see the latest posts.

    Here’s a good example:

“Hey guys, I really enjoy your blog, I have recently been running in to an issue when accessing the home page. I am accessing in Chrome and it seems the page tends to show old data and has not been refreshed. It will get “stuck” keeping a certain article as the most recent issue on top and every time I access the page it shows the same. When I clear cookies it will show the most recent articles but outside of that the page seems to stay stuck… It is currently on the [post from 2 weeks ago] which I know is not your most recent article.”

    I’m guessing it’s a caching issue.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Andrew

  • Yeah man, W3 is officially abandonware. It has not been updated in several months, and no support is provided. It has serious bugs, and returns error messages in PHP7. I had the same problem you are having and worse – forcing an old cached version of the page on logged in users, ignoring properly set cookie, making it look as if the user was not logged in, preventing them from leaving comments. I had to get rid of W3 because of it. Unfortunately, no other caching plugin seems to deliver comparable performance – nowhere near. But I run a very busy site with a lot of user activity, so these issues W3 was causing I could not overlook. Now I don’t have these issues, but my server load is significantly higher.
