Blog subscriptions not being emailed

Hey! First of all I LOVE this plugin – I just need it to work for the main thing we want it for!

I’m trying to set up the email subscription to a specific category, and everything looks fine – but when I actually post a blog to that category, it does not send the email to subscribers.

The emails work when I set it up as a post series or something, so I know the email is working. It just won’t do it automatically for the blog.

I have followed the instructions on the site step by step (https://nodesman.com/providing-e-mail-subscription-to-a-particular-blog-category/) but on step #4 it says, “Under the Subscription to blog content section select ‘Automatically send posts only under the [DropDownField] category’. Select the appropriate category in the drop down menu.” I don’t see anything anywhere that lets me select something for automatically sending posts. It only lets me select a blog category (but then it does not automatically send emails about that category).

Has anyone else had a problem with this or know how to fix it?

It would be soooo sooo helpful. I’ve been spending days trying to find a plugin like this that will work!
