• Hello, I have a static mainpage and I created a blank page which I’m trying to use for my blog. Posts appear on this page, but there is no comments box and the links to the individual posts are incorrect. The posts have urls like this: https://mysite.com/http:/mysite.com/blog
Note that I created a permalink for my blog page of https://mysite.com/blog

Can someone tell me the correct way to set up a blog subsection of a site with a static mainpage so that blog urls and comments work correctly? Thank you.

Thank you for this link. I have followed the instructions and still have the problems I described. How should permalinks be configured so individual posts can be viewed and commented on?

You should always be using the template tag `the_permalink()’ for links to posts/pages.

Thanks but I’m not sure where/how I’m supposed to use “the_permalink()”

I reset the permalinks to the default value and now the post page is something like mydomain.com/?page_id=75 and the posts have different ID’s and have comment boxes like they should. However what I would like is for the main post page to have a url like mydomain.com/blog and still have separate links for the posts which work correctly. Do you know how to do this? Can I create an alias for the url mydomain.com/?page_id=75 of mydomain.com/blog without effecting the urls of posts which go on that page? Thank you.
