• Hi there,

I don’t know what the problem is, but suddenly today, my blog is really really slow. It hasn’t been the fastest in the past, but today is just crazy.

I am constantly receiving 500 error and Internal Server errors. I’ve tried to disabled all Plugins, still very slow. I have stopped WP Super Cache for a week now, since I am using WP Forum Server, and the post doesn’t refresh when users add them in the forum. But since I turned it off, things are still fine, only slightly slower. This morning I worked on a post and it was still acceptable.

Then in the afternoon, after I posted my lastest post, it just went completely slow. So I’ve added WP Super Cache back and because I am using WP Forum Server, I have disabled Caching for Pages.

I am on Networks Solutions, and doesn’t seem to be a server problem, because I’ve tried FTP, and it works pretty quick, upload and download.

Can someone PLEASE help me take a look at what’s wrong??

If someone need an account, I can PM a temp admin account for you to check.

Thanks, please write to me at [email protected]

    ??

    Desperately need help.

    Howard

Just because FTP works quickly, doesn’t mean that there isn’t something wrong with Apache (the HTTP service). You might want to contact Network Solutions and ask them if anything is wrong with the server today.

As for the internal server errors, they are usually described in more detail in the server error log. If you have access to your server error log, generate the error again, note the date and time, then immediately check your server error log for anything useful. If you don’t have access to your server error log, ask your hosting provider to look for you.

The internal server errors could be a result of something wrong with the server which could be related to your sudden slowness.

Who is your host? I’m running into a similar problem, and I use hostmonster. Suddently started taking a long time to serve pages. Not sure if it is a host problem or mine, but it slows down from about 2am to midmorning. Functionally, it acts like your site does-long time to laod pages. I got some improvement by using supercache plugin, but it doesn’t help signed-in users much.
I haven’t been able to crack the problem yet, but thought the cache tip might help save a few readers for you.

    Good luck.

Network Solutions does not play nice with WordPress. I’m not sure why but I ran a test to prove it wasn’t WordPress or the quality of my custom theme creation. I made an exact copy of the WordPress site I built including it’s database as well as all related files and placed it on another host. As you can see, network solutions speed is unacceptable.

    Here are the results:

Test for load time of a page request of the same WordPress webpage on two different Hosts:
    – Browser cache is emptied before test
    – Load time is prior to other page assets loading (ie. images, stylesheets, javascript)

    NETWORK SOLUTIONS HOSTING

    TEST 1
    Duration: (13.63 sec)

    TEST 2
    Duration: (14.12 sec)

    TEST 3
    Duration: (12.40 sec)

    OTHER HOSTING

    TEST 1
    Duration: (988 ms)

    TEST 2
    Duration: (649 ms)

    TEST 3
    Duration: (823 ms)
