• I created a “news” menu item with a link of https://testing.sharlasweb.com/blog. It was working great with the posts showing up when you clicked the News menu item. Suddenly now I’m getting a 404 error that page is not found.

    What could be wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help.

What did you do before this issue happened (e.g., new plugns, themes, etc.)?

    Hi Tara

That’s the strange thing.. no new plugins or themes. I was simply working on the site. The blog posts were there, I replaced some and added new ones, clicked on the News menu to test it and got the 404 ??

Check the server error log for your hosting account. Ask your hosting provider for assistance to locate them.

The hosting chat support was not able to help. Does anyone have any ideas at all?

404 indicates failure to communicate with the server.
    – it could be configuration issue
    – it could be memory issue
    – it could be permalinks issue, try reviewing this: How to fix 404 error when using Pretty Permalinks?
    – it could be optimization issue
    – it could be a conflict with plugin: try resetting the plugin folder
    – it could be a conflict with theme: try switching to the default theme for a moment via FTP and see if that resolves the issue.
    – check for .htaccess file presence and check if the default wordpress mod-rewrite code is there or not. There are times when .htaccess file is not writeable or gotten deleted
    – Check the server error log for your hosting account. Ask your hosting provider for assistance to locate them.
