Blog terms I do not understand

HI,

I am new in wordpress and in the dashboard ( when doing my post), it says there ” allow comments”, “allow Pings” and “Make this post sticky”.

I dont understand these terms ( except of course with allow comments). Would apprecaite if you can explain these to me so I would know if I will mark this with a check or not.
