i know this must be so easy.
i started up my first blog today, using blue host. i opened it and installed wordpress. everything was fine. basically, i’m trying to install the theme ‘benevolence’ available on wordpress but done by theron. i’ve tried 4 or 5 times. i download it and extract it and then upload it to bluehost. but when i got to “presentation” where I expect it to be added to my themes, it keeps telling me it is “broken” b/c the style sheet is missing. but i see the style sheet (i think) in the extracted files. ugh.

  • Maybe the style sheet is linked wrong in the theme somewhere? :o)

Only thing I can think of, other than an evil glitch

i’m still having the same problem!! I’ve now tried to download and upload 3 different themes, and in each case, wordpress blog tells me that the “stylesheet” is missing. what am i doing wrong??

i can’t believe it, but i finally figured it out… it was something in the ftp – i had to reposition the files. it works! yeah.

Yeah, sounds like linking then. There’s a link to the .CSS file of a template (usually within the templates index.php or header.php) to tell it where to find it. If it’s not linked right then it won’t see it, and neither will WP

Sounds like by moving files around you’ve got them linked up right :o)

    Glad it’s sorted!
