    Hello

I like the way blog posts are presented by this theme (and with the settings I’ve chosen, apart from the opacity but that is a different question) but it seems the thumbnail is generated from the featured image of the post without sizing it significantly smaller.

Now for me, on desktop, with a good internet connection, and with not a lot of traffic to the site (server resources), that is not really a problem. But with increased traffic, and for people with slower internet speeds, it will become an issue. Both because thumbnails in the post overview will take a long time to load for people with slower internet speeds, and because of the resulting bandwidth.

So, is it possible to (automatically!) resize the featured images to something like 500px width for thumbnails, to reduce the file size? The media settings in WP seem to not have any effect on this.

Thanks and have a great day ??

  • Hello @rodario!

There is no setting in the free version of Neve to automatically change the thumbnail size on the blog page. This is a premium feature and it’s available only with the Pro version of the theme.

    Have a nice day!

    Hi @luciamarinescu

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately the premium version being an annual subscription is a dealbreaker for me. I’ve purchased premium themes before, but I’ll only consider paying a one time price. It’s also priced a bit steeply when comparing it to other themes with a lower one time fee than the annual fee for this one. (I’m not gonna name any competitors here).

I do appreciate your assistance which you provide for freeloaders like me, @luciamarinescu, and I understand your salary has to come from somewhere. Maybe one day if my blog becomes super successful I’ll consider the premium version for faster loading archive pages with smaller thumbnails ??

    Have a great day too!
