• My website appears fine, but when I post a link onto Google Plus the title will show twice as in

“”Marketers Beware – The “Powerball Paradox”Marketers Beware – The “Powerball Paradox””
    for the link https://www.mrryanconnors.com/2012/12/03/marketers-beware-the-powerball-paradox/

I assume this has to do with a duplicate title tag in the code, but I can’t figure out how to fix the issue (I’m still a WordPress n00b). This doesn’t happen when I share onto LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter and the post appears fine in the browser.

Any insights would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • There are no dupe title tags in your code, or dupe meta or anything

I”m not sure why Goog+ is grabbing the title twice. I’m not sure if perhaps it grabs your meta title, and then your actual post title, or what.

Google+ has recently started doing the same thing on my site as well – I’m trying to dig into what’s going on

bump! even I have the same problem. I read in Google forums that it might be due to duplication of Facebook meta tags or something related to the yoast plugin.

If the Google+ is picking up BOTH the meta title tag, and the og facebook title tag, that is a possibility.

I’ve looked through my source, and the OP’s, and didn’t find any duplication within individual tags.
