Blog versus Page and problems with index

I’m not sure exactly how to ask this questions ??

I created a subdomain where I installed a second wrodpress simplescript. The main page is https://www.momsheadquarters.com. The secondary page is https://www.momsheadquarters.com/shop where my future e-shop will be located. The shop home (www.momsheadquarters.com/shop) defaults as a BLOG view for posting. I would like this to default as a PAGE so that my shop plugin (WP ecommerce) may be placed there.

Does this make sense.

Can anyone tackle this for me???
