• I installed the software onto my server (technically it was already there but I “activated” it for my domain). I read the directions but after creating an email account and entering it in the dashboard I get lost. I tried to go to the website ( I did change the domain name to mine) but it was an invalid site. Not sure what i am doing wrong but I can’t get the emails to upload or forward to the blog. Please advise (the emails are in my webmail when I log into the email account I created for the blogs but it isn’t posting to my site) I even tried to download the plug in listed on the how to portion of the site but it won’t download because they are supporting or working with word press.

    What software?

I read the directions but after creating an email account and entering it in the dashboard I get lost.

    Which directions?

You probably want to start with Blog_by_Email

The server had fantastico and I had to click on wordpress for it to create the directory. That is the software I am refering to. I had to activate it if you will on my hosting cpanel.

I read the directions about blog by email on the word press site and still can’t get it to work. I printed them off and went step by step. I don’t have an instaldir on my server and I tried downloading the plugins that was listed on the link you just posted (Which is the directions I was refering to in my previous message) and it says that they no longer support Word Press.
So to recap and not waste any more time here is what all I have done:

Read the instructions on the Word Press website ( the link you provided in your response twice).

Created an email account via my hosting server cpanel specifically for my blog. ([email protected])

Then went to word press dashboard and inserted the email address in the slot listed in the Blog Email directions. Saved the changes. Sent an email to that account as testing. Then went to the link indicated to upload the data but it does not exist. Looked for alternative on the instructions site (the link you provided in previous posting) and nothing worked.

Please advise what to do from here.!

i think maybe your path needs changing. the example given at blog by email assumes that you have installed into a subdirectory. I think that fantastico assumes that to be the root directory so in your case the path would not include “installdir”. all that means is the directory that wordpress was installed to.

In your case it will be (I think)
    bethorta.com/wp-mail.php
    rather than
    bethorta.com/installdir/wp-mail.php

Hope this helps. And that it works. All I get is an empty post but am still looking for solutions.
