• I’ve just updated 4 of my wordpress blogs to the latest WP 4.7 and all my sites crashed. This was the error:

    “cannot establish connection with database.”

After restarting MySQL server with help from my hosting, I see other errors in my dashboard:

Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /public_html/wp-admin/includes/post.php on line 641

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /public_html/modules/wordpress-seo/admin/metabox/class-metabox.php on line 1054

and my text editor is missing. I cannot create blogposts!

    What’s going on?
Have you tested WP 4.7 before releasing?

  • Well WordPress 4.7 is tested properly and the problem you are facing might be because of the theme or some plugins you might be using. Those might not have been tested with WordPress 4.7 lately.

Everything worked fine before I did the wordpress update and I didn’t make any changes to theme or plugins.

The problem with text editor might be related with this error:
    /public_html/wp-admin/includes/post.php on line 641:

    $post->post_content = apply_filters( ‘default_content’, $post_content, $post );

I’m missing the form in post.

    Any idea?

Try Re instillation of WordPress again. That’s all I can say !!

    all my postings are gone!

    404-errors

What the hell is going on?
I want to roll back to the old version.

    Download 4.6.1 if possible ?

Technical support of my hosting provider investigated and found out that the update to WP 4.7 corrupted my database files. He created a fix for this 4.7 version and now everything is working again.

Woo.. congratulations. Now have you got your posts back ? And try reporting the issue to WordPress core team !

I’ve updated from 4.7 to 4.7.1 and same problem occured as previously mentioned.
The new update ruined my database (!)
My hosting provider is trying to repair it…. (again).

I guess that WP 4.7 has some fundamental flaws in it that’s not updated well to 4.7.1.

To be honest… WP 4.7.X SUCKS!
