• Hi,
I’m using the Bloom plugin from Elegant Themes, and am needing to assign a custom user role to it’s access, but there seem to be no settings for the plugin that I can see or access/allow access to in AAM. Any ideas?
( I’ve asked ET for feedback and they said I should try a different User Role plugin ?? )

  • Hi, I’ve just installed Bloom and AMM offers access control to Bloom’s 5 features from its Backend Menu tab.

Hi, ok cool. Will have a look. They might have included this through a recent update.

So the issue is that ideally one should be able to add permission through the Capabilities. That way I can assign access to a user role without having to give them additional capabilities such as editing plugins etc.

i.e. An Editor by default is will not have those Backend Menu options available to them.

Hi, for this you can create a new role from the administrator role and then, from the Backend Menu, you deactivate everything except Integromat. Does this help you?

I tried setting up a new role using the admin role and removing permissions. It didn’t work, because at some point the new role still allows for certain admin permissions (to be able to admin/edit Bloom campaigns) that I don’t want the role to have.

    PS: What is Integromat?

I got the plugin name wrong, I meant Bloom

You can create a new role from the subscribed role. Then for this new role, you check the “manage_options” box in capabilities. Then from the Backend Menu you turn off what needs to be hidden. At this point, the subscriber has access to Bloom. If you want him to just be able to access stats in Bloom, you check the other boxes and he will only see Stats. But if you want to block functions of “Optin Forms” for example, then you have to ask ET to add role management to their plugin as some editors do. Hope this helps you…
