• Hi
I’m using Sermon Manager for the custom post type and BluBrry PowerPress for the hosting of the podcast files. I also use PowerPress to generate the feed for iTunes, etc.

When I used a different custom post type for our sermons, the feed from PowerPress plugin worked fine. However, new episodes are missing from the feed now that I am using Sermon Manager.

It may be to do with the ‘capability_type’ => ‘wpfc_sermon’ rather than post in the includes/class-sm-post-types.php file. I’ve tried changing the capability to post, but the feed still doesn’t update with new posts.

I can’t use the feed generated by Sermon Manger as that won’t have the podcast files links.

    Thanks Shawn
I had tried that but Blubrry support referred me back to this plugin support.

I have no practical experience with Sermon Manager, but I reread your original post and I have one suggestion for you:
1.) Log in to your WordPress site
2.) Go to any PowerPress settings page and look for the Advanced Options menu at the bottom of the page, if it’s not already checked, check the box next to Podcast Channels and click the Save Changes button
3.) Go to the Podcast Channels menu inside the PowerPress menu in the lefthand sidebar dashboard
4.) Look for the cnc-talks channel and click the Edit link underneath
5.) Go to Other Settings tab and look for the Post Type dropdown, select the post type that corresponds to what you’re doing with Sermon Manager and click the Save Changes button
6.) Clear any site caches, if applicable

Check the podcast feed and see if it’s showing all of the episodes.

    Thanks Shawn for your comments.

I have already done this, or attempted to. Ordinarily the Sermon Manager post type does not appear in the Other Settings menu that you have mentioned. This I believe is because the Sermon Manager post type has some specific coding differences which have caused the problem. Specifically the ‘capability_type’ => ‘wpfc_sermon’ rather than post. I tried changing this to the ‘capability_type’ => post and I could select the Sermon Manager post type in the menu you suggested, however the feed still did not have the post types. I believe there is some other factor in the Sermon Manager plugin which is preventing the feed picking up the post type info as expected.
