• So I recently looked at my site and noticed that none of my images are showing up. So I logged in to see if I could find a solution, and in my WP dashboard, third party plugin icons were not appearing on the sidebar. Instead, they were replace by a blue box with a question mark. In addition, my media library shows nothing but blue question mark boxes. I am not sure what caused this sudden change since my site was working fine when I finished constructing it, and a few weeks later, it’s completely broken even though I haven’t touched it. Please help!

If you look at your site from the hosting control panel or via FTP, are the files actually there in wp-content/uploads/

    for example

    wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Business-Woman-with-MBP-1.jpg

Yes they are there. In fact there are multiple instances of the same photo, probably due to me deleting older versions and uploading the new ones.

So you said “I have not touched the site” but…. but…. so what might have changed?

Please disable ALL plugins and set the theme to twentysixteen. Do the images work? If so, turn things back on one at a time until you see what breaks the site.

I turned off all plugins and switched the theme to twenty-sixteen but still no images when I look at the site.

let’s get back to what’s actually on the file system

This is a link to an image on your home page that’s a 404:

    wp-content/uploads/2016/06/WMM-Logo-Circle.png

can you paste an “ls” for wp-content/uploads/2016/06 ?

You want a list of my uploads folder? Isn’t that like, compromising security? Besides, I have a bigger problem now, every time I try to login to the WP dashboard, it just says, Are you sure you want to do this? And then it gives me a link that says Please try again, which just takes me back to the login screen. I don’t know what’s going on.

I’m asking you to paste a list of the files in one specific directory; it does not compromise your security. Do it from the file system or your hosting control panel or from FTP, not from within wordpress.
