  • That page used to be for affiliate links; the owner of www.ads-software.com would get a kickback for everyone referred from there. It looks as though they’ve changed it now, so that it only recommends those hosts that they KNOW work well with WP, and not everywhere they happen to have affiliate accounts.

It doesn’t necessarily mean there’s anything wrong with BlueHost or any of the other sites that have been dropped, just as its previous inclusion didn’t necessarily mean it was a good choice. When looking for a host, you are always best off doing your own research. I will say though, that of the three now listed, Dreamhost is probably the best entry-level host (it’s cheap and will install and update WP for you automatically).

For what it’s worth, I’ve been with Bluehost since forever and have had nothing but warm and fuzzy feelings for them, especially when it comes to WordPress.

Bluehost is listed now, though they cleaned out a few other hosts, I think…

    Bluehost

“WordPress Auto-Install — new WordPress updates are made available within 24 hours. Unlimited disk storage, Unlimited monthly data transfer, host unlimited domains on 1 account, 1 free domain name for as long as you host with BlueHost, 2500 POP / WebMail addresses, 50 MySQL databases, free control panel, free Fantastico, free SimpleScripts, 24/7 network monitoring, 99% uptime guarantee, mirrored storage backups, no hidden fees.”

Thank you for the replies. I see BlueHost has indeed reappeared. Thanks again. ??
