Hi There, I have fooled with a number of things to see if the thumbnail photos can be as sharp as the actual image or the images that are in the image slideshow to include: increase thumbnail size from 200 to 300 (which did not change the size of the thumbnail on the screen as it is staying at 226px – another issue?); change the Thumbnail JPEG Quality to 100; checked the boxes for Default Retina Support (the boxes did not stay checked so I am not sure if this did anything); deactivated other image plugins to make sure the new settings were not being over written; I installed the plugin “Regenerate Thumbnails” to see if the thumbnails needed to be regenerated to update and the setting changes and it did not make a difference in the images when run. The image that I am studying is the 1st image that shows in the gallery. I have the original image and it is really really crisp and sharp. Is there anything else that I can try to do to make the image thumbnail look sharper? Thanks so much. -Beth

Hello, I am wondering if anyone is going to take a look at this post? -Beth

    Hi Elizabeth,

While reviewing older support requests I noticed that this request had been completed.

I’m going to assume that this issue has been taken care of by now but I’ll still respond to your question.

The most likely cause would be that the FooGallery cache needed to be cleared after regenerating the thumbnails.

This can be done from FooGallery -> Settings and hitting the clear html and clear CSS cache buttons to ensure FooGallery is correctly serving up the newly generated thumbnails.

If you are still experiencing this issue would please reply to reopen this support request or open up a new support request so that we can help you further.

Hi, I am having this same issue. I did as @phillcoxon suggested and cleared the caches but the thumbnails are still blurry/fuzzy. I didn’t see any other solution in this thread. I did check out Elizabeth’s website and her thumbnails are crisp and clear. Could you please post the solution?

The page in question on my site is:https://www.srcparty.com/src/gallery/

    Thank you.

Hello, I did not take any further action on this. My client still thinks the images are blurry, but I don’t really think that. The things I did are listed above in my first post. I hope that helps. -Beth

    Same issue here: blurry thumbnails.
I think the culprit is the chosen downsampling algorithm.
I’m not sure if the PHP imagescale function was used for the image resizing: such function accpets the algorithm to be used for downsizing, thus avoiding blurry thumbnails.

BTW: @elizabeth-abernathy : had a look at the site and the thumbnails are blurry indeed.
