body of post not showing

    I just recently transferred hosts and had transferred two wordpress blogs:

    – estanli.net/blog, and
    – estanli.net/pulitika

    I didn’t have problems with the latter but with estanli.net/blog:

    – when I tried making a post, I observed that whenever I click on the “Save and Continue Editing”, “Save” and “Publish”, the text that I typed inside the post box disappears and doesn’t come back. This is the reason why this post: https://estanli.net/blog/2007/04/27/fully-transferred-to-dreamhost/ is blank

    – I tried switching themes but the same problem was encountered

    – I tried upgrading to 2.1.3, the latest wordpress version but still the same

    – I tried recopying all files from my backup but still the same

    – the problem is true only for posts that I created after the transfer. I tried editing existing drafts but it was okay

    – I tried deactivating all plugins but still the same problem

    – I tried posting a comment but clicking on the submit button does nothing

    I really don’t know what’s the problem with this. My last option, if all else fails or nobody knows how to address this one is to reinstall the blog again

    Please, maybe someone can help me on this one.

  • I don’t know if this will work, but I would try writing a post with no automatic formatting, since it sounds like some formatting you don’t want might be sneaking in and causing your posts not to display.

    To do that, get the Text Control plugin:

    Then go to options>textcontrol config>choose: no formatting

    And go to users>your profile>uncheck: use visual editor

    Then you will have to code your post by hand, inserting line breaks, etc.

    Sounds like a configuration problem to me. Did you follow all instructions when moving WP?

    thank you very much for the response. This is just a quick post since I’m just browsing…

    I tried unchecking the visual editor without downloading the plug-in and I was able to post! Unfortunately, submitting comments are still impossible.

    I’ll try to do first the text control thing and if the commenting problem is still apparent, I’ll check azaozz suggestions.

    Will post later when I have tinkered with my blog…

    I did a fresh reinstall and also upgraded to the latest version. Unfortunately, the same problem was encountered.

    Another one cropped up:

    When doing an image upload, it just doesn’t work.

    azaozz, I followed all the transfer steps.

    Please, I’m really having problem with this. Can anyone assist me? I can open up the administration panel to have it checked.

    These look like javascript errors… Wasn’t there anything in FF’s error console, not even warnings? Perhaps try the fixes for the wysiwyg editor:

    The main problem has not really been identified but I agree with azaozz that there might be javascript problems. As I’m really desperate enough to have my blog working, I made a fresh install and imported just the posts, comments and categories from the SQL database.

    Its now all okay. I have to build the customizations including the tags from scratch.
