• At first I thought I was fortunate in that I had over 5k users sign up for my site as users. Then, I started noticing that the email addresses were basically following a pattern, and then, many were coming from .ru or gmail or yahoo, or hotmail and others.

i tried blacklisting some domains and adding a captcha, but I still get users that I really have no confidence in. Plus, with the ads on my site, with that many users, I should be getting more income, so I know they’re bogus.

How can I get around this and also verify that the email addresses people use are real?

  • Do you need registration enabled for any reason on your site? If not, I recommend shutting off that functionality entirely right here https://cld.wthms.co/ULln. If you do need registration, I recommend looking into plugins that will help you add some sort of Captcha functionality or anything else that may help combat registration spam.

As I said, I have Captcha functionality – plus domain blacklists – so far nothing is working. I would like to have registration so that if and when I try to sell the site, it has monetary meaningfullness. but I need to make sure emails are verified. Is there any plug in that will make the user click on a link to verify it?
