Bolding and Work Strikethrough not showing on homepage

  • Hello,

    On my site’s homepage bold words and words that have a strike though are not showing on the homepage if you look at the top post in the headline section and then look at the direct post here you can see that the strikethough and bolding is not showing up. Does anyone know how to correct this?

    looks like the front page content is pulling from the excerpt which strips all formatting.

    thank you both! However I was hoping that there were a few lines i could add to my code or remove lines from my code that will let words that are bold and words that have a strikethrough show on my homepage

    No, sorry. the_excerpt automatically removes all formatting.

    i removed the “the_excerpt” from the formatting.php file and it messed up all of the formatting on my website. Is there an alternative?

    Eek! No! Put it back!

    It’s either the option I suggested via the link above. Or create your own hand-crafted excerpt for every post using the Optional Excerpt box in edit Post. Or trying out some of the custom excerpt plugins.

    Ok I am not sure I understand I think the link you gave me applies to showing more of the excerpt of the posts on the homepage. I am just trying to show bold and strikethroughs on the first page for some reason this isn’t showing

    It also applies if you want formatted text (like bold and strikethrough) to appear on the front page. You simply add the <!--more--> tag to each post to define where the “excerpt” on the font page should stop.

    Because the automatic excerpt text produced by using the_excerpt() in a template removes all formatting (like bold and strikethrough).
