• Hi there. I’ve searched far and wide for a plugin that allows me to transform my blog into a sort of book format.

Basically, what I want to be able to do is show one (the latest) post on the main page, and have people click forward / back, last entry or first entry.

Does a plugin like this exist?

Thanks so much in advance ??

  • Sounds more like a theme to me. WordPress does know the order of posts (you can see the prev and next links in the header, for example) and making those visible is trivial.

So, answer is: no plugin is necessary, all it takes is a theme that presents the entries in right way.

Great answer! it’s starting to make sense.

But how do I find a theme like that? I’ve looked through hundreds with no luck so far!

Your needs are specific enough that it’s unlikely you’ll find anything ready.

However, it’s very simple and you could probably get it done fairly cheaply, if your own skills aren’t enough.

All you need is a single column, with post content in the middle and some really elementary navigation (next page, previous page, first page, table of contents) on top and bottom. It’s basically one page template, with another template for the table of contents.

Doing a simple version of that is probably less than hour of work for someone who understands WordPress.
