Hi, I am using the plugin on a site to display ebooks. Great plugin with very versatile functionality.

I have set the outline to be open when the page loads. However, this makes the book page too small. Intuitively, I would expect the outline to close (for small screen) automatically when you click on a heading. But having the outline open while you can see preview of the page is great too. So, I am working to make the preview a little bigger.

I am using custom css to decrease the width of the outline. (See preview) However, the book pages do not get adjusted if screen width is smaller than 360 (See the preview here).

Also, it applies the code to the viewer even when the outline is closed (Click for preview). I cannot find the selector to differentiate the status of outline sidemenu.

It would be great if you could lead me in the right direction. Thank a lot!

    Sana

    Hi,

On a smaller screen, one will be prioritized against another. When you want to see the outline it will be displayed in front. If you try to view the PDF in any other PDF viewer on mobile. and go to outline, They totally hide the PDF and just show the outline.

Both cannot co-exist on such a small screen. The auto-open outline is an extra feature that some clients wanted, but it’s not a practical solution. In the future, we may disable this auto open in mobiles, cause that makes the whole thing messy.

    Best Regards,

Hi Deip, thank you for explaining elaborately. That does make sense indeed.

It would be great if the auto open feature is made optional in mobile instead of disabling it. Another useful feature can be that the outline closes (in mobile only) when you click on a heading so that the desired page opens.

I think it’s still very useful as some of the readers might not be able to spot the icon for outline. For example, the target audience for our website is more likely not that tech-savvy.

Having the outline appear before the book is a great feature of the plugin.

    Hi,
We understand. We try to keep our plugin simple. There are already many options and users get lost in them.

We will look into the possibility. Thanks for your feedback and suggestions.

    Best Regards,
    Deip
