I’m using this plugin (not the PRO version) to simply have people sign up for an event. I don’t want them to create an account or have an account made for them, I simply want them to register using their first and last names, and their email address. I have the no-user booking mode set to yes. But all that shows is a comment field. I searched around and found that I’m supposed to set up a Booking Form placeholder:

    https://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/set-up-event-bookings/

But the instructions there say to go to Events > Settings > Templates/Formats, but I don’t have Templates/Formats in my version of this plugin (version 6.3).

So, how am I supposed to get this working (am I supposed to change the plugin’s php code or something like that (I saw other people on this forum say that was the way to get this working)? Thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I created an an event with bookings enabled and it looks like this:

You can see it has a link for Bookings. When I click on the link I get a page like this:

You can fill out how many tickets and then click on Send Bookings. There’s no need to Go to go to?Events > Settings > Templates/Formats (I did explain how to do that here in case you need to make a modification to the way events are displayed). But this is not required to solve your problem.

On your form I see the following message on the booking form: You must log in or register to make a booking.

This means you don’t have Guest registration enabled. To enable this go to Settings for Events Manager and click on the Bookings tab then click on Booking Form Options.

Then set the Display log in form to “No”

Then scroll down and click on No-User Booking Mode and set Enable No-User Booking Mode? to Yes and then click on the “Save Changes” button.

Are you sure you saved the changes after setting the No User Mode to Yes?

Thanks for your reply…I think I have these save as you suggested.. Here are my settings (which have all been saved).

    am I missing something?

I think your settings are correct. Maybe the plugin author will have some idea why it’s not working correctly.

Edit the event and scroll down until you see Bookings/Registration and then click on the title (if necessary) then make sure the “Restrict to” pulldown is set to either Everyone or Guest Users. Then click on the Update button. Looks like the default is to restrict Bookings to Logged In Users.

yes, it is set to Everyone

I was able to register for your Event using the name “Jon” and the email “[email protected]”. Maybe you changed something so it works now?

for some bizarre reason it just started working – i got your confirmation. I didn’t change one setting this entire time. anyway, thanks for your help…I really appreciate it.

this is an amazingly useful thread and I got my booking form working (I’d missed the Guest option). @joneiseman I note that you say that you create an event and that you can click on the booking link and see a popup. I can’t see a popup, just the booking form on show underneath the description. How do I get it to show only the booking link and then the popup?
