    Hi!

I recently added step 4 to the booking process (the payment step). This is for a client of mine that only offers on-site payment, but would like to use the coupon opportunity. I therefore added payments to the booking form (the customer can then add a coupon-code and has to select “Pay on-site”).

The problem is; after filling in customer info in step 3, and pressing the “next”-button, the booking is registered and e-mail confirmations are sent out. If the customer sees in step 4 that they have accidentally selected the wrong date/time, they cannot change that anymore (but has to manually contact the service provider to change it).

    How can I fix this?

    Hi,

I’ll be happy to assist you,

Booking is added to the database (reserved) before the payment to avoid double-booking. We added this functionality due to high demand from other customers.

To improve the booking workflow, I’d suggest to setup the following:

    1. On the Email notifications section of the SETTINGS page disable confirmation emails and enable payment notifications. Notifications will be sent only after payment.
    2. Enable automatic cancellation of not paid bookings. This can be done on the SETTINGS page: Booking rules – Advanced settings – Delete unpaid bookings – Set expiration time on booking.

Change the date / time just before the payment step is not allowed currently. This limitation will be fixed in the future.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Thank you for the help, but when I change to the settings you suggested, neither the admin or the customer receives an e-mail when “payment” (the “pay on-site” box i checked and the customer has pressed “continue” to complete) is completed. The booking does show up as approved under “bookings”.

There has not been any problems with receiving e-mails before.

Please, clarify – which payment methods are you using?

I’m sorry, I see you might have misunderstood me calling it “on-site” payment. What I mean is on arrival payment. The booking system does not offer any other payment method, the customer is only allowed to select payment on arrival (but as meantioned earlier, the booking system uses coupons, and therefore has to include the payment step of the booking – please correct me if this is wrong, and there is another way for a customer to add a coupon code).

So, this might be the reason then for the payment notifications not being received. A payment transaction is what pushes the system to send these e-mails?

Thank you for explanation. Now I see the concern. What if include the coupon field directly in the booking form? You can do it that by adding Custom Form Fields.

Thank you, I will use this option instead of the coupons.

In this case you can also use regular confirmation emails.
