The error appears when a page takes too long to load while generating critical CSS. I tried accessing the page and found that it loads fairly quickly. There can be a few different reasons behind it loading slow occasionally. These are the most likely ones:
- The device from which you are trying to generate critical CSS may not have sufficient resources to load the page in time. Please ensure you have a good internet connection and the computer you are using has good performance.
- Critical CSS requires loading a large amount of your pages. It is possible that a firewall you are using via the hosting or within WordPress via a plugin is activating because of the large number of requests and temporarily blocking access to the critical CSS generator. If you have any firewalls on your website, please temporarily turn it off and see if you can generate critical CSS. If the process succeeds without the firewall, the next step would be to configure the firewall to not block pages during critical CSS generation.
Apart from the above, please check with your host to make sure requests with jb-generate-critical-css query parameter aren’t blocked or slowed down.
