• Hi,

Is there ANY way to get a 2/3-1/3 column spread similar to Bootstrap?

It would seem like it should be doable – am I overlooking something? Gutenberg needs to handle things like this.

    Thanks!

  • Hey @tgedge1,

Not within the core Gutenberg columns block, but I have built a Row block within my free CoBlocks plugin – which let’s folks do just that (and much more). Here’s a quick screen recording gif for you. Let me know what you think!

    Hey Rich,

Thanks for the reply. Awesome plugin. And have a question…

Look here: https://imgur.com/a/17ADjAI (Your plugin is for the section in gray called Body Content/Sidebar

This is what I am trying to achieve.

1 -I have a slideshow that stretches from edge to edge. To accomplish that – I needed the page to be really wide.

2 – But what that does – is force justify-left, your split column block.

3 – When I really want your block to be center justified (margin: 0 auto;) – but can’t get that to work.

    Any thoughts?

Figured it out… (forgot to add a width to the div) :^D

@tgedge1 Maybe somewhat late, but there is an easy plugin now for using bootstrap columns, rows, containers and even percentage columns. It’s called Bootstrap Blocks for WP editor. No development skills needed, it all works from within the Gutenberg editor.

Thanks Virgial. Somewhat late – but knowledge none-the-less!

At the time – that would have been the ticket. I tried a half dozen scenarios – but would have to do some serious forensics to remember what I did and what I settled on, and why. I did not stick with CoBlocks(Rich’s plugin above) not that it was bad or not as advertised, but whatever solution I settled on provided something else, also, that was crucial at the time.

I was, and still am, an early proponent of Gutenberg. In theory I try to keep things as lean as necessary and still give site a unique feel. So Gutenberg *on theory* helps accomplish that objective – until it doesn’t.

Going to go read about Bootstrap Block now. ;^) Thanks!
