Borlabs Marketing but not AdSense

    I want to use am embedded code ad (text+code).
    Which is NOT AdSense (instead: flashtalking.com)

    The manual says that, if the cookie is “marketing” Borlabs controls the ad over the marketing setting.

    But since there isn’t anything set in Borlabs/Marketing, the marketing selection in the banner is invisible.
    There must be some entry in Borlabs Marketing. What exactly (other than AdSense)?

    Thanks for reaching out.

    The cookie set by Borlabs is decisive for the controlled display of the ads. This is called borlabs-cookie. You can decide for yourself under which cookie group you want to retrieve the ad consents. I would choose “Marketing” for this just like you.

    Then you navigate to Advanced Ads > Settings > Privcacy and set that your ads are only shown if the Borlabs cookie contains marketing. Here you can see a screenshot of the setting: https://ibb.co/b7mnFcR.

    If the ad in question is a single ad and you are a user of Advanced Ads Pro, I would leave the privacy module of Advanced Ads disabled and add a cookie condition to that ad; define “show the ad, if the cookie borlabs-cookie contains marketing to ensure that the ad is only displayed when the user has given their consent.

    Please, keep in mind that you will need to enable the cache busting of Advanced Ads Pro to ensure this functionality if you use caching on your website.

    Hi, yes I am using PRO.

    The settings for Borlabs (from your screenshot) is only visible if the Dataprotection module is on, correct? So far I followed the tutorial already.
    Why are you now suggesting of leaving the GDPR module disabled?

    The missing link is that there is not such a thing as a “marketing” toggle in the Borlabs Consent Banner, if there is no active setting in there. So what needs to be there? Musn’t there be some Advanced Ads setting (similar to Adsense) in the Marketing row of “Cookies” so that a Marketing toggle appears in the banner? So that borlabs-cookie works?

    Without, and with GDPR active in the ads settings, the ad remains invisible forever.

    You have not posted a link to your website, so I could not check the provided options of your consent nor what kind of ads you use. To keep it simple, I recommended disabling the privacy module if the ad in question is the only ad unit, while other ads are not privacy sensitive, e.g., because they are image ads hosted on your website.

    Since you are a pro user, I suggest that you contact me via our support for pro users and send a link to this thread as a reference. I would appreciate it if you could send a link to your website and a screenshot of your Borlabs settings.
