    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    I’ll try that.
    Thanks!

I have numerous sites and every one of them slowed to a crawl the moment 3.5.1 was installed. Turning off all plugins make no difference at all.

@debra Berube: It is impolite to interrupt another poster’s ongoing thread with a question of your own. It causes significant problems for the forum’s volunteers and prevents us from being able to track issues by topic. Please post your own topic.

    Uh… I don’t see that I asked any question… made a statement.

    The general rule is;
Unless you’re contributing towards the original poster, don’t post on their thread.

Don’t diss Debra. She’s right, turning off all plugins and changing themes didn’t work for me either.

    BTW I don’t see a question in Debra’s post.

Have you tried Esmi’s other suggestions?

    (@esmi)

@tlkuhn: FYI, this is not the only, pre-existing, topic that Debra Berube has posted in regarding her problem. Unless she is using the same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme & configurations as the original poster (ie you), her problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different and she needs to post a new topic as per the Forum Rules.

Didn’t mean to cause a stir. Just wanted an answer to my problem.

    esmi

    (@esmi)

Did you try all of the steps I suggested above?

    Debra Berube

    (@debra-berube)

I didn’t mean to cause difficulty either.

However I DID STATE that I was using the SAME VERSION and that the suggested fix did not help. I then pointed out that the issues seem to have arisen for me as well after the upgrade to 3.5.1.

As for a suggested fix other than going back a version I have not found one yet.

Therefore my problem IS IDENTICAL to tlkuhn’s. Sorry if I insulted your response but it was incorrect (though an obviously good try)…

Again, deactivating all plugins makes no difference and multiple sites would not all fail in an identical manner if the plugins are not at fault.

I will suggest a caching plugin may help speed things up but this does seem to be a difficulty with the new release version.

Perhaps another suggestion esmi? I know I would love a solution as well.

Yes I did. Nothing seems to work. Sometimes it loads fast, but mostly slow as molasses in January. Sometimes it even loads half of the page and stops.

@debra Berube: Are you using the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme & configurations as the original poster?

No? Then your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different. So please help us to help you and post a new topic when we ask you to.

    Debra Berube

    (@debra-berube)

I again apologize if I insulted you. I have only written about this issue by the way in two posts. This one and one other. Where I stated (as an attempt to help) that the problem seems version related.

We NASA software Engineers can be too blunt I guess (grin).
