I was just trying with WP Dark Plugin. on my website.

    After I installed the plugin.

The next day I saw the bounce rate went from 25%(Normally of my site) to 3-4%.

After I disabled the plugin. The bounce rate went from 3-4% to 85-90% high.

I think there is probably some issue with my google analytics code on my website [linked below]

Please help me debug the issue. I am very noob at it thus explain me in very simple language. Please tell me the solution for it.

You are right, there’s an issue with your gtag code. The part that’s supposed to be a comment: <!-- Global site tag (gtag.js) - Google Analytics --> is missing the Analytics --> part, which makes the rest of the code into a comment that does nothing.

How is your gtag code added? Whatever it is has a problem. If it’s simply text on a template, you should be able to simply fix the text on the template.

All looks well with a quick look. Hot tip: When you view page HTML source in a browser (Ctrl-U on Win boxes), it’s syntax highlighted. HTML syntax errors are colored bold red, which stand out and are easy to spot. ?? HTML entities are regular red, they’re OK. Comments are green and sometimes give you useful information about where things come from or what related content is for.
