• I have a site that is has gmail for the email handler. I am attempting to setup ALO EasyMail Newsletter to be able to check the [email protected] account. IMAP or POP is fine, but gmail requires the following:
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server – Requires SSL

    imap.gmail.com
    Port: 993
    Requires SSL:Yes

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server – Requires TLS

    smtp.gmail.com
    Port: 465 or 587
    Requires SSL: Yes
    Requires authentication: Yes
Use same settings as incoming mail server

If your client does not support SMTP authentication, you won’t be able to send mail through your client using your Gmail address.

Its that last bit that I think is the crux of my problem. Is there a way to configure this to work with GMail?

    Many thanks!
    Joshua

Hi, go to Newsletters > Settings > tab Bounces and setup the bounce settings with your gmail account as following.

    Email address: [email protected]
    Server host: imap.gmail.com
    Port number: 993
    Protocol: IMAP
    Folder: (empty)
    Username: [email protected]
    Password: (your-gmail-password)
    Optional flags: /ssl/novalidate-cert

Then save and test the connection in settings.

If the test works but the live bounces do not work yet, you can try using your gmail account as the sender email (in Newsletters > Settings > tab Newsletter >”Sender’s email address” option).
