When you are using Boxed layout:

with its default settings, it will make your slider as wide as its containing element is. So if the container is fullwidth, the slider will become fullwidth as well.
You need to turn off “Upscale”, if you don’t want your slider to become wider, than the given “Slider size – width” value is:

I don’t suggest turning off “Downscale”, as for responsive reasons it is good to let your slider go smaller on smaller screens.
