bp security and wp login issue

I installed the bp security plugin but it messed up my links so I tried to go back to how I had it all before. then I put back my permalinks to default and promptly got booted out of my dashboard. would not let me login.
I removed a htaccess I had previously made in the root and now I can login but cant go to permalinks or menu tabs. I am very new to this, hope you can help me. thanks.
