So I have BPS free installed and created the initial .htaccess file through the BPS control panel in WP. Added some 301 redirect code to that file. Now I need to make sure I lock the site down again. What would be the process for that? If I go through it step by step again then I assume the custom .htaccess file will get overwritten. Not sure how to turn BPS back on without it deleting my redirect code. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You would copy and paste your 301 redirect custom htaccess code to BPS Custom Code, click the Save Root Custom Code button, go to the Security Modes page, click the Create secure.htaccess File button and activate Root Folder BulletProof Mode again. Your custom 301 redirect code will be automatically written to your root .htaccess file.

Redirect custom code goes in this Custom Code Text Area/Text box:

CUSTOM CODE BOTTOM HOTLINKING/FORBID COMMENT SPAMMERS/BLOCK BOTS/BLOCK IP/REDIRECT CODE: Add miscellaneous code here
ONLY add valid htaccess code below or text commented out with a pound sign #

BPS Custom Code Blue Read Me help button
Your Custom Code is saved permanently to your WordPress Database until you delete it and will not be removed or deleted when you upgrade BPS.

Root htaccess File Custom Code Setup Steps
    1. Enter your custom code in the appropriate Custom Code text box.
    2. Click the Save Root Custom Code button to save your custom code.
    3. Go to the Security Modes page and click the AutoMagic buttons.
    4. Activate BulletProof Mode for your Root folder.
