    Hello,

I was using BWPS and the last update turned out to be a CPU hog, so I uninstalled it and decided to try out BPS instead.

All plugins are deactivated except for BPS. It is installed and activated, but when I try access any of the BPS setting pages (I would love to click that AutoMagic Button!), I get the Install Required Plugins page instead. The URL is OK ([domain]/wp-admin/admin.php?page=bulletproof-security/admin/system-info/system-info.php) but the content of the page is that of the Install Required Plugins.

    H e l p !?

    Thanks in advance.

(I also get these BPS messages :

BPS Alert! Your site does not appear to be protected by BulletProof Security
Go to the Security Modes page and click the Create secure.htaccess File AutoMagic button and Activate Root Folder BulletProof Mode.
If your site is in Default Mode then it is NOT protected by BulletProof Security. Check the BPS Security Status page to view your BPS Security Status information.
BPS Alert! An htaccess file was NOT found in your wp-admin folder. Check the BPS Security Status page for more specific information. )

FTP to your website and delete the .htaccess file in your website root folder.
Go to the BPS htaccess File Editor tab page and click the Turn On AutoLock button.
Go to the Security Modes page and click the AutoMagic buttons and activate BulletProof Modes.
Go back to the htaccess File Editor tab page and click the Lock htaccess File button. The root .htaccess file will probably already be locked but click the button just in case.

And you will be happy to know that BPS is not a “database abuser” plugin. We avoid utilizing the WP DB as much as possible with the bare minimum of MySQL Queries. Excessive MySQL Queries are the #1 cause of poor website performance. ??

I have deleted the .htaccess file. However, I still cannot access any BPS tab. Instead, I still always land on the “Install Required Plugins” page.

All plugins are deactivated, except for BPS.

Also if there is an .htaccess file in your /wp-admin folder then delete that .htaccess file too.
