    Hello ??

I use Braintree as payment and they send me message that they plan to update they root SSL and that operation needs a SDK update in the payment plug in. I will put the message from Braintree down in order for you to see it. My questin is: can you update that SDK?

    …………..
    Hello Veneta ,

Braintree plans to update our root SSL certificate provider for API traffic on May 1, 2020. Our records show that you are using a legacy SDK version that will not be compatible with this SSL update. We’re reaching out to provide the information you need to ensure you can continue processing payments without any interruption.

    What’s changing?
An SSL certificate is a security technology that enables encrypted communication between a web browser and a web server. Braintree maintains this certificate to process requests securely. The SSL certificate update will go into effect on April 1 in the sandbox environment and May 1 in production. Integrations using the latest versions of our SDKs are compatible with the SSL certificate update.

    What action is required?
To avoid interruption to your processing, you must update your SDK version to the appropriate minimum version before May 1:

    Java 2.67.0
    Python 3.24.0
    Ruby 2.57.0
    PHP 3.8.0
Note: Node and .NET Server SDKs should not be impacted by these upcoming changes.

Where can I find more information?
For information on how to update your SDK version, see our developer docs: https://developers.braintreepayments.com/reference/general/best-practices/php?utm_campaign=BT_GBL_Ops_SSLCertMigration_20190108&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Eloqua&elq_cid=5230068#server-sdk-versions

If you are using a third-party shopping cart for your integration, we recommend reaching out to your shopping cart provider to ensure that they are using up-to-date Braintree SDKs so your processing is not interrupted.

If you have any questions, contact us.

    Thank you for the answer!
Will you please write information here when you have some naswer from the developer?
To know if that would be updated as I use it in websites that are working.

    Thank you. ??

    Hi Veneta.

Simple Membership is using PHP SDK version 3.40.0, which is greater than required by this new change (3.8.0), so it should be fine.

We shall figure this out on April, as this is when Braintree enables new certs for Sandbox mode. If SDK update is required, we will definitely update it until May, when new certs are enabled for Production mode.

So, in conclusion: we got this under control ??

Ок, thank you very much. And from my side, I just need to update the version of the membership plug in in order to have any update, right?

Veneta, I have made several test payments in Sandbox mode and the things seem to be working smooth. Braintree supposed to install new certs for Sandbox on 1st of April 2020 according to this https://developers.braintreepayments.com/reference/general/best-practices/php. Since Sandbox mode payments are working fine, we can assume this is handled.

Hello, sorry for reaching out again – just to make sure – do I need to do something from my side or the plug in will update automatically?

Also – can I use your plug in with braintree subscription?

Apologies for late reply. Sometimes email notifications from this forum are not properly delivered for some reason.

do I need to do something from my side or the plug in will update automatically?

No actions are required on your side. If you’re using latest version of the plugin (3.9.6 at the moment), you’re all set.

can I use your plug in with braintree subscription?

Not yet, but we have this in “to do” list as some people are asking for this functionality. Cannot give you ETA at the moment, but I’d recommend you to create a new support topic here and ask this question separately ??

Ok, I will open new question about Braintree suscription, because it will be extreamly helpfull. :)))
