I’ve just uploaded all the files to my hosting company and get a 500 error or blank screen. The config file is correct and up to date. I’m clueless as to what is happening.

Did it work long enough to install, or has it never worked? If it’s NEVER worked, how did you get a config file made?

I had it installed via a different URL on the same hosting service. I uploaded a new unzipped version, created a new database, etc. and updated everything when I moved to the new URL. Everything worked on the test URL (just a sub-folder on an existing URL). So now that I’ve moved I can’t get anything to come up. I updated the sys-config file with the new database information. All I get is 500 error (www.purapuma.com)

“updated everything when I moved to the new URL” – Can you clarify that please? Moving to a new URL is complicated.

I updated the sys-config file with the new database information, new login, password, etc. I uploaded all new files.

Have you checked the error log?

If you are installing a new WordPress installation and DB on a new URL, there’s no need to update the wp-config.php file. My advice would be to scratch everything you’ve done to this point and just do a clean fresh installation.

I’ll see if my hosting company gives me an error log. I’ll check it.

I think I’m going to have to do that. I’ll see if I can do that tonight.

Did you copy over your .htaccess and, if so, did you remember to change thye RewriteBase to /

I ended up deleting everything off of all domains and re-uploading the files. It worked – I just need to re-do everything I had done previously since I didn’t read ahead first. No biggie.

    Thanks all!
