    Hi,

I am having a derivation of a problem where most of my store has suddenly become orphaned. That issue and the solution can be found on my link (visible below). https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/almost-all-store-items-have-become-orphaned-content/

The problem was supposedly caused because I initially uploaded simple store items and then turned them into variable products. The main suggestion as I understood it was to delete the store item and re-import it already as variation and then upload another csv with the variations and fix the sku of the variables.

I’ve done a test with one of my store items (first deleted it and emptied the trash, then re-uploaded it as a variable item). Unfortunately it instantly become Orphaned again. When I try to upload the variations from the WordPress exported csv, only one uploads(from all of them) and this only occurs after I specifically added a column with the parent_sku. This single one that uploaded “successfully” isn’t even visible in either WordPress or the site itself…

Can someone please help? Could this be caused by some of the extra Botiga columns added to store item list?
I’ve uploaded a pic of the columns present in my parent variable store list. https://file.io/tOdyTRqS9dkP

I’m willing to manually add the variations again but need the main store items to not be orphaned. lol

    Thank you,

One more thing, I’ve tried to use https://woocommerce.com/document/product-csv-import-suite-importing-product-variations/ for assistance but I do not get the option to select what kind of upload: Parent or Child Variations I am trying to upload…
As well, I am running WordPress 6.2 and WooCommerce Version 8.0.2.

    Thank you,

    Hi @alin99

From your shared information, it seems that the issue might be related to the process of converting simple products into variable ones. If the process isn’t done correctly, it could potentially lead to orphaned products. However, it’s not common for products to become orphaned instantly after re-uploading them as variable items.

Regarding the issue of only one variation being uploaded from the WordPress exported CSV, it’s possible that there might be some inconsistencies or errors in the CSV file that prevent the other variations from being uploaded correctly.

The extra Botiga columns you mentioned could potentially be causing issues, but it’s difficult to say without more information. If these columns are not configured correctly or contain incorrect data, they could potentially interfere with the import process.

As for the issue with the Product CSV Import Suite, it’s strange that you’re not getting the option to select what kind of upload you’re trying to do. This could potentially be due to a compatibility issue with your current versions of WordPress and WooCommerce.

However, If you have a valid license with us for the Product CSV Import Suite plugin, can you please open a support request for us to investigate further about your issue?

I hope this provides some clarity on the matter. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to ask.
