I activated the brands sitemap when switching to rankmath, and google has sent me the dreaded “errors” email overnight.

    The data being exported by rankmath for each product within BRANDS is;
    “@type”:”Product”
    “name”
    “url”
    “@id”
    “description”
Google is throwing an error for no “offer”, and warnings for image, brand, sku, mpn.

When I click through to the brands page from the google console, each product has image, title, price. The setting for (rankmath>seo titles and meta>brands>remove snippet data) has always been set to “off”. I then ticked all the check boxes for “no follow” etc within the same settings and did a live test, same results. I have also tried to disable that sitemap and no-index the brand, but google is still showing errors when I attempt to validate the fix.

Essentially – the page that google is throwing errors on (my url/brands) has the price visible to viewer, but no data comes across from rank math. I am trying to get everything working on this website with limited products before adding more products and moving on to more websites.

I use Perfect WooCommerce Brands plugin.

    Hello @justanotherguy

Thank you for contacting the support.

As per Google’s guidelines, the Schema data should only include the data which is visible on the frontend. On Taxonomy pages, only basic product information like Product name, price is visible which we are adding in the snippet.

To avoid Google from throwing errors, we recommend not to add Schema on Taxonomy pages.

You can disable the Schema data on Brands page by enabling the Remove Snippet Data option in Dashboard >> Rank Math >> Titles & Meta >> Brands

    That should fix the issue.

    Hope that helps.

I disabled the Brands data as per advice, and have been able to start validation with google now. So, am hoping the errors will disappear – unfortunately it means no indexing of brands on my website/s.

Maybe I was not clear enough before – google was showing errors (and warnings) for every product on my “brands” page. When I clicked the link from within Google console, every product shown on the brands page has the following shown to viewers:
    Image
    Title
    Price
    “buy” link

However, when the data was viewed within google console, mathrank was providing the following:
    “@type”:”Product”
    “name”
    “url”
    “@id”
    “description”

As you stated, google does not like hidden data – which I totally understand. However, the data going to google does NOT show “offer”, when it IS displayed to viewer, but it DOES show “description” which is NOT displayed to viewer.

The error was for no offer data. I would much rather google DOES index my brands, which would only need the lack of “offer” rectified. Link below.

Lastly – thank you for your prompt support so far with my issues. Much appreciated. Do you have a “donate” link somewhere…?

    Hello @justanotherguy

The Brand Product taxonomy is set to noindex that’s why Google is not showing it in the Search Results.

As far as the Schema data is concerned, we don’t see any errors or warning in the Google Structured Data Testing Tool.

Just set Brand taxonomy to index, and you’ll see it appearing again in the Search Results.

    Hope that helps. Thank you.

WOW – after reading your replies I really wish that the RESOLVED could be activated by the original poster only – as this has NOT been resolved, regardless of your haste to mark it so…

Of course I have it set to NO INDEX now – that’s because your plug-in causes errors, so I disabled the Brands feature, hoping that, by posting in this forum, you would be able to fix it.

Rather, you fail to acknowledge the errors that you cause, giving useless advice instead. There are NO ERRORS ow, as I disabled Brands, as per my comments above. I have given clear information on what is happening, but you are ignoring the problem.

    Hello @justanotherguy

Sorry about that, we have changed the status to not-resolved.

Sorry for the confusion in explaining the things, there are 2 things here:
    1. The reason, the taxonomy page is not appearing in the search results is because it’s set to NoIndex. It’s not advised to set pages to NoIndex just because the Schema data is showing some errors.

    2. The Schema Errors: On taxonomy pages, it’s not recommended to show the Schema data. That’s why we had suggested before to Enable the Remove Snippet data option in Titles & Meta settings. You can read more about that here why they are not recommended:
    https://developers.google.com/search/docs/guides/sd-policies

Hope this helps. Please let us know if we are missing something here.

    Thank you.
