Breach of GDPR: Prechecked opt-in checkbox on checkout

    Hello,
    The Newsletter opt-in checkbox on WooCommerce checkout page i currently prechecked. This goes against GDPR regulations in my country. Could you please leave change this to being initially unchecked (ex. requiring the user to actively select it)? Alternatively, could you provide me the code to custom change it locally my end?

    Could you please leave change this to being initially unchecked (ex. requiring the user to actively select it)?

    Please note the opt-in checkbox from the MailPoet’s settings is not checked by default. We’re in compliance with GDPR and aware that this is not recommended at all.

    Could you please let us know if the checkbox is showing as pre-checked for all your customers or only for yourself? If it’s the latter, it could be that you’re already marked as “Subscribed” to the WooCommerce Customers list, and that’s why if you go through the checkout page again, the checkbox will be displayed as already checked.

    Please let us know if that’s the case.

    Hello Bruna,
    Thanks for your quick reply. You are right. After logging out and making a test order -the optin checkbox is no longer pre-checked. Thanks for clarifying.
