Hello! Thank you for such a good plugin!

There are some suggestions that can be made to the plugin.

    1) Refine the functionality of bread crumbs.

Please add a field to change the current page. Now, at the very end of the bread crumbs, the title of the record is displayed. For SEO, this is spam, since the end of the bread crumbs and H1 are duplicated. Of course, you can delete the page name from the settings. But this is bad for the usability of the site. You can in the settings of the page itself and the taxonomy (where we prescribe the title, description …) make an additional field where you can register your unique page name for bread crumbs and categories.

    2) You can add the option to remove the prefix (/category/) from the category pages to the plugin.

    3) You can add the ability to register a unique title and description for Facebook and Twitter.

Now they are taken from the main meta-post. Unfortunately, if, for example, you output a long title paste for Facebook, then it will be cut off in the card. Therefore, I would like to register my short and unique description and title for social networks.

I like your lightweight plugin. It will be good if you add this functionality to the plugin in the near future. I think the plugin really needs it. It will also make it easier to move from other Seo plugins. I plan to move from Yoast SEO to Slim SEO. Therefore, I don’t want my old data in bread crumbs and social networks to disappear. Therefore, I ask you to add this wonderful functionality to the Slim SEO plugin as soon as possible.

    Thanks!

    Hi @sergiksmen ,

Thanks a lot for your feedback. It’s very detailed and has a lot of insights that are very useful for us to know how users use the plugin.

Below are some of my initial thoughts on these:

    1) I understand that showing the current page title seems duplicated in term of text. But I think it’s better than using an alternative title because:

    • Another title might confuse users (not the site author). They’ll wonder why another text is displayed. Is that from another post? Or a bug?
    • The text duplication is not a problem, since the breadcrumbs is not a heading tag. It’s just a normal text, like the titles of recent posts or related posts.

    2) It’s in our todo list.

    3) We’ll consider this. Basically, we don’t think it’s needed as the title & description should be consistent to avoid any confusion. While adding altenative title & description for social media is not hard, we’ll need to think about the value it brings vs. the UI it will bring to the settings. We prefer to keep the UI as minimal as possible. However, we value user feedback. So, we’ll see if other people request this one.

Thank you very much for putting your thoughts on this. We constantly add more features to the plugin and try our best to balance with the lightweightness.

    Best regards,
    Anh

    Hello!

At the expense of bread crumbs – there is another very important point that I forgot to mention. The fact is that with a large level of page nesting, breadcrumbs will look bad on mobile devices.

For example, (homepage/category/subcategory-1/subcategory-2/article title). If the title of the article is long, then on mobile devices such bread crumbs can take up to 4-5 lines on the screen. This may be bad for usability. Therefore, I think it is better to give a brief, appropriate description (1-3 words) for the bread crumbs of the page. Besides, brevity is the sister of talent.

Thanks ha answer and this easy plugin. It’s good that you don’t clutter up the plugin and leave it light. However, I think these additional functions will not overload the interface. They will only give a plus. In addition, users will have the right to choose. Everyone has different situations and needs. In addition, according to the load – they will not load the site much. In fact, they are already built into your plugin.

They just need to be improved a little. In general, I will follow the plugin updates. For now, I will put a separate additional breadcrumbs plugin. If such an option appears in the breadcrumbs of your plugin, then I will definitely use such a function.

    Thank you.
