Breadcrumb disabled and bug of native breadcrumb

    Hi, i’ve a problem with Yoast. I’ve talk with the theme developer “BLOCKSY THEME” and the say to write a line.

    `Hi, i’ve some problem with breadcrumb. Sometimes show product category taxonomy, sometimes brand taxonomy.
    The right breadcrumb must be the category, not the brand.

    This is ok – Category:
    https://www.gasparetto1945.it/prodotto/weber-pulse-2000-barbecue-elettrico/

    This is not ok – Brand:
    https://www.gasparetto1945.it/prodotto/geelli-filo-g-f10/

    On theme settings Breadcrumb source is set to Default.
    Breadcrumb setting in Yoast are disabled.

    FROM DEVELOPER:
    You see, SEO plugins will always change up the internal structure of the site, that’s what they are supposed to do. And, when configured incorrectly, things can go awry. For example, if I select Yoast as a Breadcrumbs provider, they disappear completely, because someone has configured Yoast incorrectly.
    By deactivating Yoast, you see that breadcrumbs return to the correct behaviour. This is something that we do not have direct control over, because we are merely performing some queries as WordPress recommends and not reinventing the wheel with the breadcrumb logic.

    What’s your opinion?

    Hi @rdmgrl

    Just to clarify, you’ve disabled the Yoast SEO breadcrumb output, right?

    And you mean to say the issue is that even with the breadcrumbs feature disabled, it’s affecting the breadcrumb output from your theme, like for this example URL of https://www.gasparetto1945.it/prodotto/geelli-filo-g-f10/?

    Could you let us know what the correct breadcrumb path should be for that product?

    Exactly, yoast bredcrumb is disable for my theme. I use wordpress default breadcrumb function. If i de activate Yoast the breadcrumb is ok.

    Correct breadcrumb:
    HOME > BAGNO E LAVANDERIA > ACCESSORI BAGNO > GEELLI FILO G-F10

    Hi,

    If you’ve disabled the Yoast SEO breadcrumb output (under WP admin dashboard > Yoast SEO > Search Appearance > Breadcrumbs tab), we wouldn’t expect that it would affect the breadcrumb output being generated by your theme. While the schema data itself related to the breadcrumb would still output, it shouldn’t affect the actual breadcrumb on the product itself.

    Unless you’re using the Yoast breadcrumb shortcode or block for that specific product that has the issue.

    Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

    Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

    So, for this product (https://www.gasparetto1945.it/prodotto/geelli-filo-g-f10/), with just your chosen theme, it outputs the correct breadcrumb pathway, but once you enable the Yoast SEO plugin (with the breadcrumbs disabled), it causes the breadcrumb output to be modified?
