    Need help.

    Suddenly the breadcrumb is not showing anywhere. Not in GOOGLE results, nor during post preview SEO section.

    I have enabled the option, also added below in the functions.php

    add_theme_support( ‘yoast-seo-breadcrumbs’ );

    Nothing works. Same for mobile and desktop preview. Attached one screenshot.

  • Hi @arindamg,

    We can confirm that the example page is showing the breadcrumb path with the date and month in both the Yoast SEO snippet preview and Google search results.

    However, when we checked the breadcrumb schema data that Yoast SEO generates, it is “Home > Tutorials > How to Upgrade to KDE Plasma 5.22 from 5.21 [Easy Steps]”. See the results from the Google Rich Results test.

    Thanks for reporting the problem. Can you let us know what you have set as your breadcrumb settings for posts (SEO > Search Appearance > Breadcrumbs) and your permalink structure for posts (Settings > Permalinks)?

    Thanks for sharing the relevant information here with us. While we are not sure why you’re not seeing the breadcrumbs when using the live inspection from Google Search Console, we can confirm that Yoast SEO is generating the relevant schema markup to generate the breadcrumbs on your website. You can test this on your as well from here: https://search.google.com/test/rich-results?id=XuaA_hVWEBvo7l8SDnuMtg

    Ok. Understood.

    But if it is generating fine, then why the breadcrumb is not showing in the preview section of the EDIT post page? See below.

    If I assume that it is some other non-Yoast issue, then it should have shown correctly in the Google preview right?

    Hi @arindamg,

    We were able to reproduce the problem in the Yoast SEO snippet preview on the edit screen, so we created a bug report for review. You’re welcome to comment on it or follow the issue on GitHub to be notified of updates.

    As for Google search results, does asking Google to reindex the page solve the problem? You can find the details in this guide: How to update information in Google search results. Please know that it may take a few days or more time for Google to update the search results.

    Thank you. Will wait for it to be fixed in the next iteration.

    For Google Search results, I believe it should be automatically fixed once this preview bug is fixed. That’s I feel.

    I am surprised that this is not reported by anyone until now and such an important feature.
